Through the distant mists of future, looms my horizon beyond another “O”
With this I contemplate if this should be my high or my low
On this rung, is it still my plan to devise and develop for my future?
Should I still consider myself a director, lecturer, mentor or tutor?
Or should I now reflect in nostalgia all those past years?
To dwell on memories, the joys, the struggles, the regrets and tears,
Should I push the boat out to row far beyond the shore?
Or stay on land, put my feet up, and, as each day passes, seek no more?
The answer for employees is simple when they receive their P45.
But for freelancers and independents, our instinct must be keep going to stay alive.
