Across this globe, as populations multiply to excessive proportions,
As fossil fuels dwindle, we hunt for power with no further solutions.
When alternative energy falls short and the coal industry is dead,
All resources consumed and land confiscated for urban spread.
We fell the forests and drain the rivers to drink from reservoirs,
To feed hungry mouths, more livestock slaughtered in our abattoirs.
With polluted air, we burn away the ozone layer, invisible to our eyes,
And bury waste below the surface, where deadly methane gas lies.
We protest against wildlife poaching but trade with those who buy,
And when that last elephant falls, only then will we ask why?
